How to Convert HEIC to JPG
Choose a HEIC photo below to make a JPG copy in your browser. The conversion runs on your device with WebAssembly and libheif, so the photo is never uploaded to a conversion server.
Convert HEIC to JPG in your browser
- Choose your HEIC files. Select one or more HEIC or HEIF photos from your device.
- Let the browser convert them. WebAssembly and libheif decode each photo locally and create a JPG copy.
- Download the JPG files. Download files separately or collect a batch in a ZIP file.
Choose HEIC photos
Drop HEIC files here
Tap to open Photos or Files. You can select several photos at once.
Shortcuts: Shift+A opens the file picker · Escape stops leftover files, or clears the list when idle
Your HEIC files never leave this browser tab. Network traffic is limited to page assets. Conversion runs locally with WebAssembly.
The quality setting affects the new JPG, not the source file. Keep the HEIC original if you may want to edit or export it again later.
Which conversion method fits your device?
| Method | Useful when | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Browser converter | You want a quick batch with no install | You download new JPG copies |
| Windows Paint | Windows already opens the HEIC file | May require Microsoft extensions |
| Mac Preview | You are converting a few local files | Each export needs a save location |
| iPhone Files or browser | The photos are still on your phone | The JPG must be saved or shared afterward |
Convert HEIC to JPG on Windows
The browser method above works without adding a desktop app. If Windows can already open the photo, you can also open it in Paint and use File > Save as > JPEG picture. A PC that cannot read the file may need Microsoft's HEIF and compatible video extensions first.
See the Windows HEIC to JPG instructions for extension setup, Paint steps, and common errors.
Convert HEIC to JPG on Mac
Open the image in Preview, choose File > Export, select JPEG, adjust quality if needed, and save the new file. Apple also documents selecting multiple images in Preview's sidebar before exporting, which is useful for a small batch.
The detailed Mac HEIC guide covers Preview, Finder, Photos, and command-line options.
Convert HEIC to JPG on iPhone
Open this page in Safari, tap the file picker, and choose the HEIC photos from Photos or Files. Conversion happens on the phone. Download the JPG afterward, then save or share it from the browser download menu.

HEIC to JPG questions
Can I convert HEIC without uploading it?
Yes. This page decodes the selected file and creates the JPG inside your browser. No image file or thumbnail is sent to our server.
Does conversion change my original photo?
No. You receive a separate JPG download. The HEIC file remains unchanged wherever it was stored.
Can I convert a batch of HEIC files?
Yes. Select multiple HEIC or HEIF files, wait for local conversion to finish, then download each result or one ZIP. For larger sets, see the batch HEIC converter guide.
Should I choose JPG, PNG, or PDF?
JPG is the practical choice for sharing a photo with common apps and websites. Choose PNG when a lossless export matters more than file size. Choose PDF when the recipient expects a document rather than an image file.
