    See before you share

Preview HEIC files on Windows, Linux, Android, or any device that lacks native HEIC support.

    Stay private

Your photo is decoded inside your browser tab. No server sees the image, the filename, or the metadata.

    Skip app installs

No HEIC extension, codec pack, or paid photo app is required. Works as soon as the page loads.

    How it works

View and convert HEIC in three steps

This viewer is powered by the same libheif engine as our converter. Decoding happens locally in WebAssembly, so the experience is fast and private.

    1. 1

      Drop in your HEIC photo

Drag a file onto the viewer or pick it from your device. We support .heic and .heif images from iPhones, Samsung phones, and most modern cameras.

    2. 2

      Decode in your browser

libheif converts the file locally using WebAssembly. The preview appears in seconds, and the original file never leaves your computer.

    3. 3

      View or download a JPG

Keep the preview open as long as you like, or click download to save a standard JPG you can share anywhere.

    HEIC viewer FAQ

Quick answers about opening HEIC files safely in your browser.

    Does anything get uploaded?
No. This HEIC viewer runs entirely in your browser. The HEIC decoder is compiled to WebAssembly and executes in this tab, so your image stays on your device.
Can I view a HEIC file without converting it?
The viewer renders the decoded image on screen before you download anything. If you only need to see what is inside the file, you can skip the download step.
Why will my browser not open HEIC on its own?
HEIC uses HEVC compression inside a HEIF container. Safari and some Apple environments decode it natively, but Firefox, most desktop browsers, and many non-Apple devices do not. That is why a dedicated viewer helps.

Have a HEIC file you need to see?

Drop it into the viewer above. It opens in seconds, stays on your device, and you can download a JPG whenever you are ready.
